WORCESTER CREDIT UNION IS RECOGNIZED
WITH SILVER HAMMER AWARD
From the Worcester Telegram & Gazette, Dec. 12,
2006
At
the Annual Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce meeting featuring
keynote speaker Governor-Elect Deval L. Patrick, the Worcester Credit
Union was recognized with a Silver Hammer Award.
The Silver
Hammer recognizes the "tremendous work and effort involved
in restoring the rich interior of the building" over the years,
said the chamber, and especially the latest work on the ground floor
that the chamber said has brought more people and services to the
north end of Main Street. In the latest changes, Worcester Credit
Union leased and renovated space at 315 Main St. that formerly housed
Bowditch & Dewey's accounting department, and before that, was
used as a BayBank office. Lamoureux Pagano & Associates of Worcester
was the architect, and the general contractor was Martin Brothers
Contracting Co. Inc. of Paxton. The renovation included mahogany
trim on soffits, ceilings and columns. |
